Not at all. You’ll find that our classes for beginners are the perfect way to build up your overall fitness level regardless of your physical condition. 

You are more than welcome to watch our class and ask questions. Better yet, you can join the class and with no obligation to join at all. We are a non-commercial school so we don’t pressure anyone to join.  😊

As long as you are healthy with no debilitating injuries, you  are not too old to start Wing Tsun training. Wing Tsun Kung Fu is suitable to all ages, gender and physical built.

Martial Arts is a physical art so there is always a risk of minor injuries during training but serious injuries are less likely if training is done properly and safely. 

Wing Tsun, like any other martial arts, can involve strains, sprains, cuts, and bruises. However, the style is generally considered less physically demanding than some other martial arts, and with proper instruction and technique, injuries can be minimized.  

In NZWTA , we follow a syllabus and you will train with someone with the same level and skill as you.

Wing Chun training generally has minimal health requirements  and is adaptable to individuals of all ages, genders, and fitness levels. It emphasizes technique and leverage over brute strength, making it accessible to people with diverse physical capabilities.

Wing Tsun is easy to learn but your progress and mastery of the art will depend on your personal dedication, attendance, practice and patience. 

Wear something loose and comfortable. Wear socks and a comfortable flat shoes.

Beginners are not required to buy uniform unless they have completed 2 months of training or when recommended by the instructor.

No, we do not have a belt system. Traditional Martial Arts system usually follow a family hierarchy system where seniority is respected. Sifu is the head of the family and the ones that joined before you are your seniors and ones after you are your juniors. 

We have different technical levels of proficiency starting with ( White shirt levels) Beginners, Primary, Secondary then (Black Shirt levels) 1st, 2nd, 3rd then 4th level technician which are identified by different colour badges.

There is a saying ” It’s not the ART that makes a MAN but it’s the MAN that makes the ART”.

Just like any art it will depend on the individual’s dedication, practise, effort, determination and understanding to “live and breath” his art.

Wing Tsun has a sound and practical concepts based on science. It is one of the most effective form of self-defense and is one of the widely practised martial arts in the world.
